Winter Weather Advisory in Effect for Monroe Monday-Tuesday

Hazardous weather conditions are predicted for our area through Tuesday morning at 9 a.m.

The National Weather Service (NWS) in Upton, New York has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Monday, Dec. 8 beginning at 4:24 p.m. and continuing through Tuesday morning at 9 a.m.

Weather conditions in our area are expected to be rainy with icy roadways due to freezing rain. According to the NWS, a Winter Weather Weather Advisory means that periods of snow, sleet or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties.

  • Tonight- A chance of flurries and freezing drizzle before midnight, then a chance of freezing rain between midnight and 3am, then rain likely after 3am. Cloudy, with a temperature rising to around 34 by 3am. Wind chill values between 20 and 25. Northeast wind 8 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. Little or no ice accumulation expected.
  • Tuesday- Rain. The rain could be heavy at times. High near 40. Wind chill values between 20 and 30. Northeast wind 14 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.
  • Tuesday Night- Rain before 9pm, then rain and snow. Low around 34. Wind chill values between 25 and 30. North wind around 14 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.
  • Wednesday- Showers likely. Cloudy, with a high near 39. Wind chill values between 25 and 30. North wind 9 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
  • Wednesday Night- A chance of rain showers before 9pm, then a chance of rain and snow showers between 9pm and midnight, then a chance of snow showers after midnight. Cloudy, with a low around 32. Northwest wind around 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
  • Thursday- A chance of snow showers before noon, then a chance of rain showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 39. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
  • Thursday Night- Mostly cloudy, with a low around 29.
  • Friday- Mostly cloudy, with a high near 38.
  • Friday Night- Mostly cloudy, with a low around 29.
  • Saturday- Mostly cloudy, with a high near 40.
