Wolfe Parke Playground Nears Completion In Monroe

MONROE, CT — Construction of the new playground at Wolfe Park is nearing completion, but it's not quite done.

About 99 percent of the playground was finished by the end of the weekend, but officials are cautioning residents that it is still an active construction site.

"We know everyone is excited to play, but the construction is not complete," Monroe Parks & Rec officials posted on social media Tuesday. "We will be working with the Monroe Playground Foundation to ensure everyone knows when the entire area is safe for use."

Members of the Monroe Police Department were among the many volunteers who pitched in their time and sweat this past weekend to bring the project through the final stretch.

Residents are asked not to skirt around any fences or walk over any fencing that has fallen as a result of the high winds the past few days.
