Woman Bought Six-Figure Lottery Ticket in Monroe

Talk about an early birthday present.

MONROE, CT — Just days before her 24th birthday, an Ansonia resident got an early birthday present when she bought a six-figure lottery ticket at the Cumberland Farms on Rte. 25. Kylee Farrington, 23, bought a ticket that had a "Jumbo Bucks" top prize for $100,00, causing the clerk's jaw to drop, according to the Connecticut Lottery.

“[The clerk’s] jaw dropped and he said, ‘Kylee, you just won!’ I thought he was lying!,” said Farrington in a statement from the CT Lottery.

The overall odds of winning the "Jumbo Bucks" prize are 1 in 3.63. There is one prize left. The Cumberland Farms will receive a $1,000 check from the CT Lottery for selling the winning ticket.
