Woman Tried to Lure Child Into Vehicle: Monroe PD

The child ran home and police were contacted.

MONROE, CT — Police are searching for a vehicle after a woman tried to verbally lure a child, police said.

A child at Stepney Elementary School was dropped off at her normal bus stop around 4 p.m. Tuesday.

"As she was exiting the bus she saw an older red minivan with two occupants, who attempted to verbally lure her into the vehicle," police said in a statement.

The driver was described as a 45-50-year-old female with a slender build with short bright red hair with the ends dyed green. The male passenger was in the same age range, overweight and had bright green hair.

The child ignored the woman and ran to her home. Police searched for the vehicle, but had no luck.

Police are keeping an eye out for the vehicle and suspects. Anyone who has information is asked to contact police at 203-261-3622.
