Worker Stole, Cashed Check from Homeowner: Police
Monroe police arrested a 27-year-old man for a traffic violation and learned he had a warrant in Wilton for larceny and identity theft.

MONROE, CT-- A Bridgeport man was arrested by Monroe police for a traffic violation on Feb. 26. After checking his records, they learned he had an outstanding warrant in Wilton for an incident that occurred in August 2015, according to a police report.
Franckes Gomes-Leandro, 27, was working in a Wilton house when he stole a check from the home, forged the signature and cashed it, police said. Gomes-Leandro was arrested for third degree larceny, third degree forgery, identity theft.
He was released after posting bond of $4,500 and is scheduled to appear in court on March 7, 2016.
