When students come back next year, things won't exactly be the same. Β Four MHS staff members will not be returning next year:Β Head of Counseling, Theodore Phillip; special education department chair, Eileen Richmond; and life management department chair Laura Greenstein will all be retiring. Band teacher, Trevor Sindorf has announced his decision to take another teaching position in New Jersey.
Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Dr. Phillips has been at MHS for 18 years. When asked what he is going to miss most, he responded, "I will miss working for the students, and I wish for them lives full of happiness and success." Dr. Greenstein has spent 25 of her 40 teaching years in the Montville Public School system. She wants kids to be true to themselves. She continues, "Set your own goals and stretch to make them happen; dream big and work hard to achieve your dreams." Mrs. Richmond has been at MHS for 10 and a half years and has enjoyed working with the staff and students. Mr. Sindorf began his teaching career here and has been at MHS for 3 years. He is taking another music job down in Westfield, NJ at Edison Middle School. What he is going to miss the most are the people. "In the music department, we function like a family. It's tough to leave that special group of people." He is also going to miss the opportunity to wear his orange and black jacket.
