Attempted Murder Charge Leveled Against Montville Man: CSP
The suspect was charged in connection with an October attack in Windham.

MONTVILLE, CT — A 20-year-old Uncasville man was arrested on a warrant over the weekend charging him with attempted murder in connection with a shooting and stabbing attack in Windham in October, according to Connecticut State Police.
Arrested early Saturday was Alexander Santana, of Depot Road. According to state police, Santana allegedly shot and stabbed a man during an attack on Oct. 16 on Bricktop Road in Windham.
According to State Police Sgt. Mathieu Asselin, the victim was able to tell authorities that Santana was the person who allegedly assaulted him.

In addition to criminal attempt to commit murder, Santana was also charged with:
- First-degree assault
- First-degree robbery
- Second-degree threatening
- Assault on a police officer
- Carrying a firearm without a permit
- Criminal use of a firearm
- Assault on a peace officer
- Resisting arrest
Santana was held in lieu of bail of $300,000 and was scheduled to appear in Danielson Superior Court this week.
