In the near future you will notice a lot of tree trimming trucks in Montville. CL & P will be having 85 miles of power lines cleared and 10 miles will be very aggressive in the area of Oakdale Heights and Montville Manor.While driving around Town please be careful of the tree trucks in the roadway with traffic control officers. After this, all power lines will be on a five year cycle for retrimming. We have also met with CL & P to discuss way to improve communications and improve power restoration efforts in the Town during an outage. At the end of July we will be participating in the Governors mandate Natural Disaster Exercise, this exercise will test the new procedures that have been put into place. Also, when your power goes out you need to call the power company, they need to know. Don't assume your neighbor called. Remember safety first.
