Thank a Veteran
With Memorial Day upon us, I find myself reflecting on our Veterans and active military body.
“Memorial Day, originally called Decoration Day, is a day of remembrance for those who have died in our nation's service.”
This day of memoriam was proclaimed on May 5, 1868 by General John Logan who was a National Commander of the Grand Army of the Republic. Memorial Day was first observed on May 30, 1868 by placing flowers on the graves of Union and Confederate soldiers at Arlington National Cemetery. We have been remembering our Veterans and active military body since.
This weekend I will take time to reflect on all the service men and women who have sacrificed for us. I will take time to say thank you to those who have served our country both past and present for without their hard work, sacrifices and devotion to our Country we would not have the freedoms we have today.

I also ask that you please take time this weekend to reflect as well. Thank a soldier, visit a veteran, place a flag on a grave of a fallen hero or just take time to reflect about the heroes who are still fighting for us. Please take time out to appreciate what we have due to the heroes of our country.
Thank you Veterans, you are our country’s true heroes.
