Thankfulness
What are you thankful for during the start of this holiday season? Right toward the top my thankful list is my job. I turn feelings into flowers.

Invariably at this time of the year, most people's thoughts turn to the upcoming holiday season and what they have to be thankful for.
My own thankful list is long and getting longer every day. Today, I am thankful my house is warm and cozy on a damp, chilly night. I am thankful my husband and daughter home with me tonight. I am thankful for the peals of laughter that ring through my home daily. I am thankful for my friends - they always provide a soft place to land after a difficult moment. I am thankful that I get to work with my sister and I am thankful that I have this amazing job at Montville Florist.

See, I turn feelings into flowers. Really, its a gift. Whatever the occasion, whatever the reason- I can turn feelings into something that is visible, something tangible, something substantial.
Now, I realize that flowers aren't a permanent, lasting only days or perhaps even a week or two. But while they are part of your life - they are a fleeting work of art. Rarely will they fail to bring a smile to the face of recipient when they are viewed on the kitchen table. A hectic pace of the weekday morning seems to fade away so the day becomes more promising and a bit brighter when the birthday flower arrangement you got days ago catches your eye as you scramble toward the door. The stress of a long day seems to vanish as you sink into a chair next to a small table holding a vase of flowers.

A dear industry friend calls flowers an affordable luxury. They are available in a wide variety of prices - flowers are available in (almost) every color imaginable. Flowers last longer than a dinner out and won't make you buy a larger pant size. Think about it. What else can you spend as little as $5 to $10 on that will be enjoyed for weeks? I've been thinking about that question for years- other than flowers. . . I can't think of another answer.
So the next time you are at a loss for words, think flowers. Let them do the talking for you.
