Car With 6 Minors Inside Crashes Into Montville Pond

Three people were reportedly hospitalized after a car plunged into a Montville pond early Saturday morning.

MONTVILLE, CT — Four people were treated or hospitalized after a car drove into a pond Saturday in Montville, according to a Facebook post from Chesterfield Fire Co. PIO. The crash occurred shortly after 1 a.m. on Route 85 at Route 161.

Chesterfield Fire Company and Oakdale Fire Department responded to the call involving a vehicle partially submerged in a pond with the victims still inside. Montville Fire Co. #1, the Flanders Fire Department, and L&M Paramedics also responded.

Three of the six people in the car, all minors, were transported to Lawrence & Memorial Hospital, according to The Day. Two people in the car were initially unconscious in the backseat and suffered minor facial injuries.

The driver, an unnamed minor, was issued a violation for failure to drive in the proper lane and evading responsibility, The Day reported.
