Connecticut Sun Signs Stefanie Murphy to Training Camp Contract
Murphy Is the Second All-time Leading Rebounder in Program History
The Connecticut Sun announced today in a press release that it has signed Boston College forward Stefanie Murphy to a training camp contract.
A native of Londonderry, N.H., the 6-foot-4 Murphy is the second all-time leading rebounder in program history, finishing with 937 boards. She ranks fourth all-time with 1,722 points. Murphy was the second-leading scorer and rebounder for the Eagles this past season, averaging 15.3 points and 7.9 boards per game.
Murphy had 12 double-doubles as a senior, 26 for her career, and she finished with 87 career double-figure scoring games. A team captain, Murphy was an All-ACC third team selection as a senior, adding to a collection of conference awards that also includes being named ACC Rookie of the Year following her freshman season.
The Connecticut Sun will open its ninth season at Mohegan Sun Arena on Saturday, June 4, hosting the Washington Mystics at 7 p.m.
