Council, Board of Education Both Meet This Week

Parks & Rec, Housing Authority, Inland Wetlands Are Also Scheduled

Monday, Feb. 14

The Montville Town Council holds its regular monthly meeting at 7 p.m. in the Town Council Chamber.

Among items on the agenda are:

A presentation about the annual town audit, four executive sessions – interviewing William Wrobel for a position on the Gardner Lake Authority, discussing litigation between the town and the state, reviewing the employment contracts of Water Pollution Control Authority workers and reviewing employment contracts of the Board of Education and the Montville Education Association.

Consideration and motions to fill a vacancy on the Economic Development Commission, to allow a nonresident to be appointed to a board or commission, and to fill a vacancy on the Youth Service Advisory Board.

Consideration of a number of financial questions, including a resolution to make appropriations transfers from the general fund for overtime snowplowing  ($25,000); streetlight repairs ($10,000); vehicle expenses for trucks ($15,000); sand and salt ($150,000) and tree warden ($5,000).

Tuesday, Feb. 15

The Housing Authority meets at 5 p.m., at 41 Milefski Drive. No agenda was posted Saturday evening.

The Town Administration Rules and Procedures Standing Committee meets at 6 p.m. in Town Hall, Room 102. No agenda was posted Saturday evening.

The main meeting will be preceded by a BOE Policy Committee meeting at 5:15 and a BOE Educational Evaluation Committee meeting, also at 5:15.

Wednesday, Feb. 16

The Parks & Recreation Commission holds its regular meeting at 7 p.m. in the Town Council Chamber.

The commission will discuss summer camp, recreational basketball, Fair Oaks building upgrades, the tobacco-free ordinance, the new dodgeball program, and much more.

Thursday, Feb. 17

The Inland Wetlands Commission meets at 7 p.m. in the Town Council Chamber.
