Wrong-Way Detection Systems Coming To Groton, Montville Highways

MONTVILLE, CT — The state Department of Transportation is preparing certain highway on-ramps for wrong-way detection systems, according to WTNH News-8. The move comes after multiple crashes involving wrong-way drivers.

Crews were working on the following areas:

• the Exit 6 off-ramp from Interstate 395 northbound to Route 163 in Montville
• the Exit 88 off-ramp from Interstate 95 southbound to Route 117 in Groton
• the Exit 3 off-ramp from Route 349 northbound to Route 1 in Groton

The project is part of $20 million in improvements that the state is making to reduce wrong-way wrecks.
