Driver Allegedly Leaves Scene of Fatal Crash in Montville

The accident occurred on I-395 Sunday, May 31, and remains under investigation.

A Norwich man died as a result of injuries sustained from a May 31 car accident on I-395 in Montville, FoxCT reports.

Norwich resident Andre Roy Nichols, 25, reportedly lost control of the car he was driving when trying to merge from I-395 to Route 2A, near exit 79. The car ended up on its roof after striking a guard rail in the center of the highway.

Passenger Jamar Davis, 28, of Norwich, was deceased at the scene.

The driver of the car, Nichols, reportedly did not sustain injuries and left the scene. Police found him later at his place of residence. He was arrested on evasion of responsibility in a motor vehicle collision.

Four other passengers were hospitalized.
