Norwich Woman Killed, Montville Woman Injured In Head-On Crash: Police

PRESTON, CT — One person is dead and another suffered serious injuries in a head-on crash Monday afternoon, according to state police. The accident occurred around 2:30 p.m. on Route 2A near the intersection with Harris Fuller Road in Preston.

Chrisandra Burgos, 45, of Norwich, was driving a Toyota Corolla eastbound and crossed into the westbound lanes, colliding head on with a Nissan Altima, according to state police.

The Nissan ended up in the woods on the westbound shoulder of the road. Burgos' car came to rest facing west in the westbound lane.

Burgos was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

The Nissan's driver, an Uncasville woman, suffered injuries to her head, face, and lower torso. She was transported to the SEAT Bus Garage and then taken to Hartford Hospital by Life Star helicopter for suspected serious injuries.
