Hurdles Don't Stop Montville's School Bus Service: Report

MONTVILLE, CT — After striking down a proposal to privatize the town's school bus service, Montville's buses rolled this week for the first days of school but face a few hurdles, reports The Day.

Some driver positions remain unfilled, and at least a half dozen buses are more than 20 years old, but the system is largely running better than last year, according to the publication.

This past spring, the Board of Education narrowly defeated a plan to contract the service to Illinois-based Durham School Services, though another proposal for privatization could come in the future.
