I-95 Madison Northbound Service Plaza Now Open!
Renovations have been completed on the last I-95 northbound service plaza in Connecticut giving travelers a new place to stop.

Those traveling northbound on Interstate 95 have a new place to make a pit stop thanks to the reopening of the Madison Service Plaza.
Sheri Dell, from Project Service LLC, said the plaza reopened Friday, Nov. 21 at 12 p.m. with several tenants including Subway, Dunkin’ Donuts, Alltown Convenience Store, and Mobil.
It is located past exit 61 and is the last service plaza in the northbound direction on Interstate 95.
It formerly housed a McDonald’s and Mobil gas station.
The next pit stop on I-95 northbound is the Connecticut Welcome Center in Westbrook past exit 66.
According to the New Haven Register, the Madison northbound service plaza cost $5.5 million to build while the larger southbound facility cost $7.5 million.
The cost includes major renovations to fueling stations, bathrooms, security systems, septic and drainage issues.
The Register reported that after renovations are completed, motorists can expect the southbound service plaza to include a McDonald’s, Subway, Dunkin’ Donuts, Auntie Anne’s pretzels, and possibly a CinnaBon.
The newly opened Madison northbound service plaza is the seventh service plaza on Interstate 95 to be renovated, and18th overall, to be renovated, by Project Service.
The other six that have opened after renovations include service plazas in both directions on I-95 in Darien, Milford, and Branford. Currently, both service plazas in Fairfield are closed for renovations along with the Madison southbound plaza.
The company also has reopened renovated service plazas in both directions on Route 15 in Greenwich, Fairfield, Orange, and North Haven. Both service plazas in New Canaan are closed for renovations.
The company completed all renovations to service plazas on I-395 which include two in Plainfield and one in Montville.
In the end, Project Service will be spending $178 million to make renovations on the state’s 23 service plazas.
