Local and state fore marshals are investigating a house fire on Route 163 that seriously injured one person.

MONTVILLE, CT—Fire marshals are investigating a suspicious fire that "severely injured" one person and drew firefighters from around the region to battle. The late Thursday night house fire at 800 Route 163 was a two-alarm blaze, said Oakdale Fire Department officials. When responders arrived they found "heavy fire."
One firefighter suffered an electrical shock while "battling the fire" but was reported by Oakdale Fire to be "ok."
On a Facebook post about the blaze, a number of local residents commented that the house has appeared for years as abandoned and one wrote she has in more than a decade only once seen a vehicle parked at the house and "just recently at night candles were illuminated in the windows..."
