Longtime Montville Officer Identified in Fatal Shooting: State's Attorney's Office

A mandatory investigation of the situation is currently underway.

MONTVILLE, CT - An officer with the Windham County State’s Attorney's Office has identified the police officer who allegedly shot a man outside a Route 85 motel in January, according to the New London Day.

Officials have identified Robin Salvatore as the officer who fatally shot Val Thomas after he attacked her with a taser, according to the New London Day. Salvatore is a longtime member of the Montville Police Department and is also head of the union.

A mandatory investigation of the situation by prosecutors from a judicial district outside Montville is currently underway, according to the New London Day. She and fellow Montville officer Craig Jacobson will be assigned clerical work and will not respond to any police calls until the investigation is completed.
