Man Who Drowned At State Park ID'd As Montville Resident

A man who drowned at a state park over the weekend has been identified.

MONTVILLE, CT — A man who drowned at Rocky Neck State Park in Old Lyme on Saturday evening has been identified. The victim was Dante Robinson, 19, of Montville, according to FOX 61.

The Department of Energy & Environmental Protection responded to the report of a drowning at the popular Niantic Beach. Robinson, who was from a group home, was under water for several minutes. Another group home member pulled him from the water, FOX 61 reported.

A good Samaritan performed CPR on Robinson, and emergency responders performed additional lifesaving measures. However, he was transported to Lawrence & Memorial Hospital and pronounced dead.
