Man's Body Found on Route 32 in Franklin

Detectives are asking anyone who may have information about the man or who was traveling on Route 32 to contact them.

On Thursday, Sept. 17, 2015 at approximately 4:30 p.m., Troopers from Troop K – Colchester were dispatched to the area of #796 Route 32 in Franklin for a reported untimely death, according to Trooper Tyler Weerden.

Upon arrival, troopers found a male victim on the side of the road. Medical personnel responded to the scene and pronounced the male victim as deceased. The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The scene was secured and the roadway was shut down between Route 207 and Pleasure Hill Road while an investigation was initiated.

Detectives from the Eastern District Major Crime Squad responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. Personnel from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) also responded to the scene and assisted with the investigation. The OCME will conduct a post-mortem examination and determine the cause and manner of death.

The deceased is described as a white male, approximately 5’6’’ tall, 200 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a blue tank top, greyish/blue cargo shorts, blue sneakers and a gray New Jersey Nets baseball hat.

Detectives are asking anyone who may have information about the deceased or who was traveling on Route 32 in the area and may have observed the male walking within the past 24 hours, to contact the Eastern District Major Crime Squad at 860-896-3230. All calls will be kept confidential.
