Montville Board of Education to Make Several Cuts

The cuts are in response to largely lower bottom line than originally approved.

Montville, CT- The Board of Education agreed to several cuts Thursday in response to a bottom line of $600,000 below what was approved earlier in the year, The Day reported.

The cuts will have little impact on staffing or programs in Montville Schools, according to The Day. Four of the five paraprofessional positions cut were vacant part-time positions, while the other was that of a retired employee.

An assistant principal and a part-time secretary position at Montville High School will also be cut as a result of the new budget, The Day reported. Head teacher positions at the high school and Leonard J. Tyl Middle School, and three elementary library assistants will see cuts too.
