Montville High School Digs New Well, Hopes to Solve Drinking Water Issues

Drinking from water fountains at the school has been off limits for about four years.

MONTVILLE, CT - A new well could be a solution to Montville High School’s ongoing water problems, News 8 reported.

Drinking from the water fountains at Montville High is advised against due to high levels of manganese being found in the water four years ago, according to News 8. The fountains have been off limits since the fall of 2012.

A new well was recently dug near the tennis courts, News 8 reported. The mineral levels are low but it could cost about $220,000 to hook up the well to the school.
