Montville Man Charged In Wrong-Way, Head-On Crash In RI: Report

A man was charged with DUI following a wrong-way, head-on crash in Rhode Island, according to a report.

MONTVILLE, CT — A Montville man was charged with DUI following a wrong-way, head-on crash in Rhode Island on Saturday, The Hartford Courant reported. Jay Petit, 56, was charged with driving to endanger resulting in personal injury, driving while under the influence of intoxicating liquor or drugs resulting in serious bodily injury, and several other charges.

He allegedly drove the wrong way on a Cranston, RI road shortly after 7 p.m. Saturday and struck a Honda head-on. The Honda's driver was transported to a Providence hospital for treatment.

Petit fled from police on foot but was later located and arrested.
