Montville Principal Steps Down to Save Jobs
Her "selfless act" means a couple positions will no longer need to be cut.

MONTVILLE, CT- The outgoing principal of Mohegan Elementary School will be stepping down from her job in order to save several other jobs, The Day reported.
Principal Allison Peterson announced June 8 that she will resign from her position and move back to her Maryland hometown, where her husband is retiring, according to The Day. This move will save a number of district administration jobs, including a Montville High School administrator and a special education position.
Peterson had reportedly been considering the move for family reasons, however not necessarily this year, according to The Day. The decision was prompted by the nearly flat budget for the upcoming school year passed by Town Council, with teacher layoffs being warned of several times.
