If a loved one is injured or in trouble, residents would receive a call from a family member or a visit from the local police.

MONTVILLE, CT - Police are warning residents to be smart and remain cautious in light of recent phone scams that have occurred in the area.
Residents have recentness been reporting to have received phone calls from scammers identifying themselves as a defense lawyer. The fake lawyers often tell the person they are calling that a family member is injured or in trouble, and requesting bail money along with other information.
Police remind residents that if a loved one is injured or in trouble, residents would receive a call from a family member or a visit from the local police.
