Montville Student Raises Over $1,000 For Police K-9 Program

A Montville High School senior recently raised over $1,000​ for the Montville police K-9 program.

MONTVILLE, CT - A Montville High School senior recently raised over $1,000 for the Montville police K-9 program, the New London Day reported. The department was presented with the money Friday during a school ceremony.

Police said junior Nick Tibbetts partnered with a group called Black the Blue and conducted multiple charity events to raise the money, according to the New London Day. Through these initiatives, Tibbetts was able to raise $1,140 for the department. (To sign up for Montville breaking news alerts and more, click here.)

Montville police currently have a narcotics K-9, the New London Day reported. The department is now working to add a patrol K-9 that would be trained in narcotics.
