New Evidence Found in 2012 Montville Human Remains Case

The human bones were found in a wooded area off Oxoboxo Dam Road.

Connecticut State Police are looking into new evidence in connection with the discovery of human remains found in 2012.

On March 18, 2012, what appeared to be human bones were found in a wooded area off Oxoboxo Dam Road in Montville.

Detectives said the remains were partially buried near the surface of the ground.

The entire area was secured and the state medical examiner, a forensic anthropologist and other experts came to the scene.

It was determined that the skeletal remains were human and further evidence was gathered and processed.

The remains were taken to the chief state’s medical examiner for post mortem examination.

On Wednesday, March 23, 2016, State Police Eastern District Major Crime detectives announced new information had been received leading them to an apartment at 450 East Main St. in Norwich.

Detectives responded to the apartment and are continuing the investigation.
