Oakdale Man Arrested In Connection To Burglary: New London PD

Police said three men were arrested on charges related to a reported burglary in New London,

NEW LONDON, CT - Police said three men were arrested Saturday on charges related to a reported burglary in the area of Ocean Avenue and Thames Street. The incident was reported at approximately 11:44 a.m., according to police.

Police said an unidentified resident reported that an attempted burglary had been interrupted when they returned home, causing the suspects to flee, according to a release.

Police said the caller provided officers with a description of one of the suspects, later identified as a 17-year-old man.

Officers recognized the description and arrested the suspect on charges of burglary, larceny and criminal mischief, police said. The teen was released to the custody of his parent with a juvenile summons, according to police.

Police said the caller additionally reported at least one other man being in the home, and a next door neighbor also reported seeing a man running through their yard at the time of the call.

A Waterford Police Department K-9 assisted in clearing the home and tracking the fleeing suspect, according to police.

Police said officers subsequently developed two additional suspects, who were arrested at a Dart Street residence.

Christian Lozada, 18, of New London and Hashim Barnhill, 18, of Oakdale were arrested on charges of burglary, larceny and criminal mischief, police said.

Police said the suspects were held on $5,000 cash surety bonds.
