Paraprofessional of the Year Recognized by Montville Public Schools
Montville Public Schools has recognized its 2017-2018 Paraprofessional of the Year.

MONTVILLE, CT - Ruth Delacruz has been recognized as the 2017-2018 Paraprofessional of the Year for Montville Public Schools, according to a release. Her designation was announced Tuesday by
Office of the Superintendent.
Delacruz began her career in Montville in 2009 as a monitor at Dr. Charles E. Murphy Elementary School. In 2010, Ruth went on to become a part-time paraprofessional and remained at Dr. Charles E. Murphy Elementary School.

Delacruz was nominated by her peers who made some of the following comments:
- She is a dedicated team member who generously cares about the physical, social and emotional needs of her students.
- She is always willing to go above and beyond.
- She encourages her students to be independent learners while providing structure, allowing her students to overcome their fears and tackle their weaknesses.
- She is always willing to seek out advice, never hesitating to ask the difficult questions to ensure that she is doing everything possible to help her students grow and find success.
The district offered its congratulations to Delacruz in the following statement.

"We know she will represent Montville Public Schools in an exemplary manner," dstrict officials said in a release.
She will be honored at the May 16 Board of Education meeting.
