Police Ask For Public's Help To Purchase K-9

After several potential K-9 candidates haven't worked out, the department is asking for the public's help.

MONTVILLE, CT - An officer in the Montville Police Department who is a military veteran has volunteered to use his GI Bill to train a K-9 for the department. Unfortunately, three dogs donated to the department haven't worked out. Now the department is requesting the public's help in raising $7,500 to pay for a dog that will have "the right personality and learning capabilities."

"A canine purchased for police work will come with a guarantee that their personality is what is wanted in a police canine and should that canine not be able to complete the training it will be traded for another dog, free of cost," a social media post by the department said.

For more information, go to the police department's Facebook page or to donate, go to the GoFundMe page.
