Police Identify Man Shot by Police After Striking Officer in Head with Taser: Report
Police said the man had a history of erratic behavior.

MONTVILLE, CT - Police have identified the victim in a recent Montville police-involved shooting, who allegedly had a history of erratic behavior, according to media reports.
Val Thomas, 53, of Norwich was shot outside the Chesterfield Lodge on Sunday, according to The Day. The owner of the lodge said Thomas had been living at the motel for close to two months, and police were called when Thomas refused to pay the bill.
A struggle ensued between an officer and Thomas after police arrived, wherein Thomas allegedly struck the officer in the head with a taser, according to The Day. The officer was later taken to the hospital, where several staples were applied to close a head laceration.

Police said the officer Thomas struck was the one who shot him, according to the Norwich Bulletin. The identity of the officer is currently being withheld, and police are still investigating the situation.
