Sandy Hook Facebook Post Leads to Investigation of State Trooper, Montville Council Candidate: Report

State police officials have ordered an internal affairs investigation in regards to a veteran trooper's Facebook comments.

MONTVILLE, CT - A 17-year veteran state trooper is currently under investigation after alleged comments he made on Facebook regarding the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, the Hartford Courant reported.

The comments allegedly made by Jeff Rogers indicated that the former medical examiner was comparable to a butcher and the classrooms a slaughterhouse, according to the Hartford Courant. The comments were made to respond to a story in the New London Day regarding his candidacy for a seat on the Montville Town Council.

State police officials have since ordered an internal affairs investigation to find out if Rogers violated the department's social media policy, as reported by the Hartford Courant.
