SBS Students Win CT Regional Scholastic Art Awards

One will advance to national level competition.

The Saint Bernard School Visual Arts Department is proud to recognize two of our students who have earned Awards for the Connecticut region of the National Scholastic Art Awards and The Alliance for Young Artists and Writers Awards Program.

Angela Wang, class of 2018, received a Gold Key in painting for her Portfolio, Wabi-Sabi, and Payton McCauley, class of 2019, received an Honorable Mention in Drawing & Illustration for her Anatomy Man

Angela Wang’s portfolio, Wabi-Sabi, containing 8 watercolor pieces, will be submitted digitally to the National Level Scholastic Art Awards. A national jury will choose works for exhibit in the National Show held in June 2018.

If you would like to view all of the students work and celebrate our two young artists you may visit the student exhibit opened from January 14 to February 2, 2018 at the Silpe Gallery, in Taub Hall, at Hartford Art School, University of Hartford, 200 Bloomfield Ave., West Hartford, 06117.

The Connecticut Student Awards Presentation will be on Sunday, January 28, 2018, at the Lincoln Theater, University of Hartford, 2:00 – 3:30 P.M., a non-ticketed event, all are welcome. The student exhibit opens that day at 11:30 in the Silpe Gallery.
