Skeletal Remains Found Near Mohegan Sun: Report

UNCASVILLE, CT — Skeletal remains were found Thursday in a wooded area near the Mohegan Sun Casino Resort, prompting an immediate investigation by Mohegan Tribal Police, writes NBC Connecticut.

The remains were found by a grounds crew on tribal land near Cove Road. The Norwich Bulletin reports that the discovery was made at about 9 a.m.

In addition to the tribal police, also called in to investigate are members of the Connecticut State Police Major Crimes Unit and the state Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
