Swamped!?! by Natalie Smith

Swamped? You’re not alone. Teachers, students, and parents are all feeling the stress of end of the year work. Students have multiple projects going on at the same time and teachers have to grade what they assign multiplied by twenty or more in each class they teach. This, on top of state mandated tests that reduce the amount of time spent in class, coupled with increased hours for the summer at their part- time job can make anyone crazy. Parents must find time to plan summer activities and make sure their students are prepared for end of year events like prom and graduation. Stressors on top of more stressors can make people crazy, but we all have to get through it somehow, and certain things must be done in order to have a successful future. Because of this, everyone must take a deep breath and keep on going because as Winnie the Pooh says β€œYou are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.” With the advice of Winnie the Pooh in mind, we can get through these last few stressful weeks and enjoy the lazy days of summer or that long awaited concert or vacation in just a little while. As long as we remember to take a little bit of time for ourselves to relax or be with friends, it will all be okay. Even though it may seem difficult dealing with sleepless nights and busy days now, it will all be worth it in the end.
