The Amazing Race, November Christmas, Dexter

Tonight's TV Tips

The Amazing Race 17, 8 p.m., CBS

So of course the moral of last week's story is never get engaged and come in first on a leg, because only bad stuff will happen to you afterwards.

The Rings were so saddled with bad luck from the get go (to steal from our friends at Hee Haw, last week if they'd had no bad luck, they'd have had no luck at all) and in the end, they were Philiminated. I am throwing myself entirely behind the MelonHeads at this point, because if any all-female team deserves to break the AR glass ceiling, it is these perky babes.

Tonight, in Hong Kong, a food challenge that is apparently stomach-churning. This is why we watch, kids. This is why we watch.

Well, here's a dream come true: Sam Elliott and John Corbett in the same Hallmark movie!! Goodness I love Sam Elliott. And I love John Corbett. And in case you care, the Hallmark-y plot of this is: "A community works together to help a couple bring an early Christmas to their sick 8-year-old daughter."

Dexter, 9 p.m., Showtime

Jonny Lee Miller is certainly no John Lithgow, or even necessarily a Jimmy Smits as far as Dexter villains go, but at least things are finally picking up some steam. And can we have a moment of silence for poor Deb's love life? Girl can just not catch a break.
