The Regional Emergency Shelter located at East Lyme Middle School on Society Road will be opening at 6pm this evening for anyone wishing to evacuate ahead of the storm. The shelter does accept pets. It is advisable to eat prior to going there tonight. Starting tomorrow, meals will be provided. If you do bring pets, this is what you’ll need to bring with you:DOGS:Leash/harness or collarRabies CertificateAny special food/meds that they needFavorite toyBlanket with the owners scentCATS:Small litter box/litterAny special food/meds they needBIRDS:Bring their cage and foodNO FARM ANIMALS

Transportation to the shelter will be provided for those who need it. Call the Montville Senior Center at 860-848-7160 to arrange transport starting at 4pm this afternoon. The bus will run from 6pm to 9pm this evening only!
