Tribes, State File Suit Against Federal Gov't On Third Casino

The suit is intended to push the government to act on an application for a third casino in the state.

MONTVILLE, CT - The state joined the Mohegan and Mashantucket Pequot tribes in filing suit to push the federal government to approve plans for a third casino in East Windsor. The Connecticut Mirror reported that the Interior Department has taken a position of neither approving nor rejecting amendments to the tribes' gaming agreements. Proponents say the new casino will bring new jobs and economic development to the state.
