Uncasville Man Among 3 Arrested on Parking Lot Armed Robbery Charges

Officers located the three suspects as they attempted to leave the lot in their vehicle.

NEW LONDON, CT - Police arrested two men and one woman suspected in connection with an armed robbery that occurred early Friday.

Police said officers were monitoring a large bar-close crowd Friday at Cilantro's Cafe on Bank Street at approximately 12:48 a.m. when they were alerted of an armed robbery that had occurred in the parking lot, according to a release.

Reports said that one of the men involved in the robbery had held a knife to three victims as he demanded their money. Officers quickly located the three suspects as they attempted to leave the parking lot in their vehicle.

The three were charged as follows:

Andrew Maynard, 24, of Uncasville, was charged with robbery, larceny, interfering with police, possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell and tampering with evidence.

Merfy Rodriguez, 21, was charged with robbery, interfering with police, possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell and tampering with evidence.

Maria Moreno, 40, was charged with 3 counts of robbery, driving while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and operating under suspension.

Maynard was identified as the suspect holding a knife during the incident. No injuries were observed or reported. All were transported to court Friday for arraignment
