Uncasville Man Among 5 Suspects Arrested in Connection to New London Fight

NEW LONDON, CT - Police arrested five individuals after investigating shots fired near Amity Street in New London.

On Monday at approximately 5:53 p.m., the New London Emergency Communications Center received reports of gun shots in the area of Amity Street. Officers learned upon arrival that a fight involving multiple people had occurred at 22 Amity Street, according to a release.

Police said a firearm was displayed and shot into the air at some point during the fight. Officers also learned that some suspects were reported to have fled the area on foot and in a dark colored SUV.

Detectives located a spent shell casing and other additional evidence at the scene. Officers later located the SUV on Route 32 in Waterford.

Police said five individuals were arrested in association with the fight, one of which was a juvenile.

The arrested adults included:

  • Fredrick Wardwell, 22, of Uncasville
  • Jordan Davis, 20, of Quaker Hill
  • Gene Wade, 22, of Bozrah
  • Joseph Sullivan, 28, of no certain address

All five suspects were charged with breach of peace. No firearm was recovered.
