Vacant Homes Lead to Crime, Other Problems for Montville Residents
Many Montville residents are frustrated with empty houses in their area that are an eyesore with dangerous effects on the community.

MONTVILLE, CT - A number of Montville residents have become frustrated over the years living next to vacant property, NBC Connecticut reported. These neighborhood empty houses have not only been an eyesore, but have also had dangerous effects on the community.
The properties in question are situated along Derry Hill Road, Massapeag Side Road and Driscoll Drive, according to NBC Connecticut. CT Financial Partners LLC owns 37 properties along this area but has not paid taxes on them since 2010, for which more than $1 million is owed. Residents living near these properties have had to deal with break-ins, squatters and more as a result of the abandoned homes, NBC Connecticut reported. Many residents have reported having their homes and cars broken into as result of thieves on the vacant properties.
