These parties go down every Friday night, but have you ever been? Grab some friends, 21 or older, of course, and boogie down at the Montville VFW! You’ll never know what you’re missing if you don’t at least stop by. The party starts at 9 p.m. There’s always music, trivia, dancing, free food, karaoke, drink specials and great company!

Even if you’re still trying to get your house back in order after the holidays and don’t want to drag home more stuff, it’s always a good idea to support your local organizations! Stop by the non-profit tag sale benefitting the Montville Historical Society this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Fair Oaks School on Old Colchester Road in Oakdale.

John Pinette with special guest Tim Krompier will have the Cabaret Theatre laughing hard at their five shows from Friday through Sunday. On Friday night, Jerry Douglas will play the Wolf Den at 8 p.m. The following night, polka master Jimmy Sturr and his orchestra will have two shows at the Wolf Den at 6 and 8 p.m. Also on Saturday, Aaron Lewis of Staind will play a solo acoustic show at Mohegan Sun Arena.
Sunday is a busy day at Mohegan Sun, too. A special event will be held in the Cabaret Theatre Sunday at both 2 a.m. and 2 p.m. called “Showtime, Where We Discover Amazing Talents!” This competition is a new event for the casino. The celebration of Bowzer’s induction to the Mohegan Sun Walk of Fame continues Sunday at 3 p.m. with some classic doo-wop performances. Bringing the weekend to a close, Sharif Iman will play the Wolf Den at 7 p.m.
