14-Year-Old Shot In Waterbury, Local Man Charged: Reports
Axel Maldonado, 35, has been charged in connection with the shooting, which occurred on Silver Street Saturday evening, reports say.
WATERBURY, CT — A Waterbury man is facing charges including attempted murder after being accused of shooting a 14-year-old boy Saturday evening, according to multiple reports.
Axel Maldonado, 35, has been charged in connection with the shooting, which occurred just before 6:50 p.m. on Silver Street, where the boy was found lying on the ground in a common hallway with critical injuries, police said, according to WFSB.
The boy was taken to the hospital and later transferred to another, where he is in stable condition, the outlet reported.

Maldonado is being held on a $100,000 bond and is set to be arraigned Monday, according to WFSB.
Lt. Ryan Bessette, a spokesperson for the Waterbury Police Department, has not offered any motive behind the shooting or described any relationship between Maldonado and the teen, according to CT Insider.
