2 Naugatuck Police Sergeants Promoted To Lieutenants

NAUGATUCK, CT — Naugatuck police sergeants Otis Baskins and Alexia McMasters were recently promoted to the rank of lieutenant.

In a Facebook post, police said Baskins began his career with the Naugatuck Police Department in 2010. He is a POSTC certified instructor and a member of the Waterbury Emergency Regional Swat Team.

McMasters began her career with the Naugatuck Police Department in 2012. As a patrol officer, she was a member of the Traffic Unit, ran the Cadet Post, and was a field training officer.

McMasters is a POSTC certified instructor, teaching human trafficking, defensive tactics and use of force. She oversaw the department's Youth Bureau, police social worker program, the service K9, and the DCF investigator within the department, according to police.

Baskins will assume command of the department's evening shift while McMasters will assume command of the midnight shift.

"We congratulate Lieutenant Baskins and Lieutenant McMasters on their promotions and wish them success in their new roles," police said on Facebook.
