3 Juveniles Found Inside Stolen Car, 2 Charged: Naugatuck Police
Police said they recovered a facsimile firearm which bears close features and resemblance to a real firearm.

NAUGATUCK, CT β Two juveniles were charged after being found inside a stolen motor vehicle, police said.
At 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, police were alerted to a stolen motor vehicle driving on New Haven Road. Police said officers attempted to conduct a motor vehicle stop. The vehicle, a black Hyundai Tucson, which was previously reported stolen out of Naugatuck, stopped at the intersection of New Haven Road and Cross Street, police said.
Officers issued verbal commands to all three occupants, who complied and exited the car, police said. Two of the juveniles were charged and later released to their parents, police said.

During the course of the investigation, officers recovered a facsimile firearm which bears close features and resemblance to a real firearm, police said.
"These weapons pose a significant risk to the public and law enforcement where no amount of training can differentiate the facsimile firearm and a working firearm," Naugatuck police said in a news release. "We commend our officers for their proactive enforcement and efforts at curbing juvenile and car theft crime."
