34 Vehicles Incur Flat Tires Monday Morning On I-84 Into Route 8

DOT responded and removed the metal with a payloader.

WATERBURY, CT β€” A staggering 34 vehicles incurred a flat tire Monday morning on Interstate 84 westbound to Route 8 northbound in Waterbury, Connecticut State Police said.

"This morning approximately 34 cars received flat tires due to a large piece of metal in the roadway I-84 westbound to Route 8 northbound. DOT responded and removed the metal with a payloader," State Police said in a news release.

"Troopers remind motorists to use caution when attempting to avoid objects in the roadway. Reduce speed if possible. If you do strike an object in the roadway, turn on vehicle's hazard lights, and move as far right as possible and call 911 for assistance," State Police said.
