BLUE MOUNTAIN RESORT OPENS ITS 45th SKI SEASON WITH LARGEST VERTICAL IN THE STATE & ITS MOST TERRAIN OFFERED ON OPENING DAY, SLATED FOR FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 25

Blue Mountain Resort, located in the foothills of Pennsylvania’s Pocono Mountains, looks to open for its 45th snow season on Friday, November 25th with a record-breaking amount of terrain – 50 acres – for opening day.

Just a short drive from both Philadelphia and New York City and home to Pennsylvania's highest vertical at 1,820 feet in the Pocono Mountains, Blue Mountain features varied and challenging terrain as well as some of the longest runs in the state and is home to one of the largest snowmaking systems in the country. Spanning 171 skiable acres, Blue Mountain’s 40 trails include 14 beginner, six intermediate, 11 expert, four expert only and five terrain parks. Also, the 46-lane Snow Tubing Park is the country’s largest and fastest.

Trails to open first include: Paradise, Tut’s Lane, Connector, Vista, Burma Road, Shuttle, Homestretch, Frontier Alley, School Hill (terrain park on this trail) and Free Fall – all serviced by the Comet or Challenge lifts.

WHAT’S COMING:

• A new lift, named the Main Street Express, which replaces two double lifts and dramatically improves access to the terrain on the western part of the mountain – as well connectivity between Valley Lodge and Summit Lodge. The new high-speed lift will transport riders from bottom to top in under five minutes and accommodate 3,000 guests per hour.

• New all-lit nighttime, after-dark Sonic Tubing with music and each of its 46 lanes is over 1,000 feet long. Serviced by three lifts, tubers can choose between single or double tubes.
