$80 in Forged Checks Leads to $5,000 Bond for Waterbury Man: Naugatuck Police

Naugatuck police say the victim reported that two checks had been forged.

Sometimes $80 can cost you $5,000 and that is what allegedly happened to Dennis Wolfe, 46, of Bank Street in Waterbury.

Naugatuck police say on Oct. 14, Wolfe turned himself into police on an arrest warrant for a fraud complaint on July 8.

Wolfe allegedly cashed two checks from the victim for $40 each, police said.

He was released after posting $5,000 bond and is charged with second-degree forgery, third-degree forgery, third-degree identity theft, and sixth-degree larceny.
